How to play Maze Runner

Maze Runner drops you into a brand-new procedurally generated maze every run — no two games are ever the same. You start in the top-left corner as a glowing pink orb; the checkered finish flag waits in the bottom-right. Thread the neon corridors to the exit before the 60-second countdown hits zero. Escape in time and a fresh maze generates instantly for your next run; let the timer expire and the run ends. Your total escapes become your session score.

Controls

On desktop, move one cell at a time with the ← ↑ ↓ → arrow keys or W A S D. On mobile, tap the on-screen directional pad beneath the maze, or swipe directly on the maze toward where you want to go. ▶ Start Game begins a run with a full 60 seconds; ↺ Restart generates another fresh maze and resets your escape count.

Tips & strategy

Every maze is perfect — each cell reachable with exactly one simple path between any two points — so dead ends are guaranteed; mark them mentally and never re-enter one. The wall-follower rule works: keep one hand on the same wall and you will eventually reach the exit. For speed, scan ahead for long corridors and commit; doubling back through explored cells wastes seconds. Under ten seconds, take riskier direct routes instead of careful exploration.

Scoring

Each successful escape adds 1 to your Mazes score. Your fastest escape time is saved in your browser as your best — beat it to set a new record. Running out of time ends the run with your escape count intact until you press Start again. No penalties for bumping walls or long routes; only the clock decides.
