How to play Memory Match
Memory Match is the classic concentration card game, rebuilt for the browser. Sixteen cards lie face down in a grid, hiding eight pairs of matching symbols. Flip any two cards: if they match, they stay face up and glow green; if not, they flip back over after a beat — so pay attention, because every card you glimpse is a clue. The round ends when all eight pairs are found. Fewer moves and a faster time mean a sharper memory, and your best result is saved in your browser.
Controls
Everything is one click or tap: press ▶ Play to deal a fresh shuffled board, then click any card to flip it. Flip a second card to test your pair. The timer starts automatically on your very first flip, and ↻ Play Again on the results screen reshuffles and restarts. Works identically with mouse, touch or a stylus — no keyboard needed.
Tips & strategy
Don't flip randomly — work the board in zones. Clear one corner of the grid first, memorizing every symbol you see, then expand outward. When you flip a card whose partner you already know, go straight for it on your next turn instead of gambling. Say the symbols out loud (or in your head) as they appear; naming locks them into short-term memory far better than silent looking. Track positions, not just symbols: knowing where the rocket was matters more than remembering you saw one. And slow down after a miss — the flip-back pause is your free study time.
Scoring
Your move count is the main score: every second card you flip counts as one move, so a perfect round takes exactly 8 moves. The timer is the tiebreaker — fast recall under two minutes is excellent. Clear all pairs with 12 moves or fewer and you've played a genuinely sharp round. Your best move count is stored locally, so every game is a run at your own record.
