How to play Neon Drift
Neon Drift is a top-down time-attack racer on a glowing neon circuit. Your car auto-cruises around the track — you steer, brake, and, most importantly, drift. Hold the drift through corners while turning and you will slide sideways in a shower of neon smoke, charging your boost meter. When the meter is full, hit Space (or the lightning button) to unleash a surge of speed down the straights.
The goal is simple: complete 3 laps as fast as you can. Walls don't stop you, but grinding against them bleeds speed, so clean lines beat wall-riding every time. The race ends the moment you cross the start line on your third lap, and your best lap is saved in your browser so you can chase it down run after run.
Controls
- Steer: ← / → or A / D
- Accelerate / brake: ↑ / ↓ or W / S
- Drift: hold Shift while turning
- Boost: Space when the meter is full
- Touch: ◀ ▶ to steer, DRIFT and ⚡ buttons on the right
Drifting and boost
Drifting trades grip for rotation: your car turns much sharper but keeps sliding in its old direction. Start the drift just before the corner, keep turning, and release it as you straighten out — the boost meter charges fastest while you are sliding at speed. A full meter gives you a 1.4-second boost that raises your top speed, so save it for the long straights where it counts most.
Tips & strategy
Brake late and drift early — the corners are where races are won, since everyone is flat-out on the straights. Chain a drift through the hairpin and you can fill the whole boost meter in one corner. Watch the "WRONG WAY" warning if you spin: your progress only counts while you travel with the track direction. Keep off the walls on corner exits; one grind scrubs the speed your boost just bought you.
Scoring
There is no score to grind here — only time. The clock runs from the green light to the end of lap 3, and the game shows your current lap time, your last lap, and your all-time best lap. Your best lap is stored in your browser, so beating it is the real game.
