How to play Neon Hangman
Neon Hangman is the classic word-guessing duel dressed in glow. A secret word (4 to 9 letters, drawn from a neon arcade vocabulary) hides behind blank tiles. Guess letters one at a time: every correct letter lights up in every position it appears, every wrong guess adds a glowing segment to the hangman figure and costs you one of 8 lives. Reveal the whole word before the figure is complete to win the round.
Controls
- Mouse / touch: Click the letter tiles under the word. Used letters dim out.
- Keyboard: Just type A–Z — no clicking needed.
- New word: The New Word button (or the overlay button) deals a fresh secret word any time.
Tips & strategy
Open with the usual suspects — E, A, R, I, O, T, N, S, L — which cover most English words fast. Once two or three letters land, stop guessing blindly and read the pattern: word shape plus revealed letters usually narrows it to one or two candidates. Short words are traps (fewer letters means fewer free hits), so spend your early guesses on vowels when the word is 4–5 letters long. A win streak builds fast once you learn the word list's flavor.
Scoring
Each solved word extends your win streak by one; a miss resets it to zero. Your best streak is saved on this device. Wrong guesses don't subtract points — they only build the figure — so the real skill is solving words with lives to spare.
