How to play Neon Lights Out
Neon Lights Out is the classic flip-the-grid puzzle in glowing neon. You start with a board of randomly lit lamps, and your goal is to switch every single light off. The twist: pressing a lamp flips it plus its four neighbors — up, down, left and right. One tap changes five lamps at once, so every move ripples across the board and careless tapping lights things back up.
Controls
Tap or click any lamp to flip it and its neighbors. On desktop you can also use the arrow keys to move the glowing cursor and press Space or Enter to flip the selected lamp. The Start button begins level one, Restart resets the current level, and Scramble shuffles a fresh solvable board on the same level.
Tips & strategy
Don't tap randomly — work row by row from the top. The classic strategy: for each lamp still lit in the top row, press the lamp directly below it, which switches the top one off for good. Repeat down the board and the last row will guide your final presses. Tapping the same lamp twice is a wasted pair of moves, so keep track. Because each level's board starts fully scrambled, clearing levels with fewer moves is the real skill — plan three moves ahead before tapping.
Scoring
Your move count is tracked on every level — solve it in fewer taps for a cleaner win. Clear the grid to unlock the next level, where the board grows bigger and the scramble gets wilder: level one is a 5x5 grid, then 6x6, 7x7 and beyond. Your highest level reached is saved in your browser, so you can chase your personal best.
