How to play Neon Tower Defense
Neon Tower Defense is a grid-based strategy game: waves of glowing circuit crawlers march along a fixed neon path toward your core on the right edge, and your job is to melt them before they get there. You start with 160 energy and 20 lives. Click any empty grid cell to build a turret — 🔷 Bolt turrets (50 energy) fire rapid high-damage shots, while ❄️ Frost turrets (80 energy) chill enemies, slowing them by 45% so your other turrets get more shots in. Turrets automatically target the crawler closest to your core within range. Click an existing turret to upgrade it to level 2 and 3 for more damage and range. Survive all 10 waves to win; if 20 enemies slip through, your core falls. Kills refund energy, so a strong early defense snowballs.
Controls
Build / upgrade: click (or tap) a grid cell. Select turret type: press 1 for Bolt, 2 for Frost, or use the buttons under the board. Next wave: the ▶ Next Wave button calls the wave early. Pause: P or the Pause button. Restart: Space or Enter on the end screens.
Tips & strategy
Build near the corners — crawlers slow down for nothing, but corner cells cover the path twice as it bends past, doubling your turrets' firing time. Open with two Bolt turrets near the first bend, then add a Frost turret just before them so everything arrives pre-chilled. Upgrade one strong turret to level 3 before spamming level-1 turrets: the damage multiplier beats raw coverage. Save energy for wave 4+, when bruisers (big, slow, huge HP) and dashers (fast, fragile) join the march — Frost coverage becomes mandatory. Never build on the glowing path itself; the grid won't allow it. Watch the leak counter: losing 1–2 lives early is fine if it means a stronger economy later.
Scoring
Each kill scores 10 points plus an energy refund (8 for crawlers, 10 for dashers, 25 for bruisers). Clearing a wave adds a 100-point bonus and bonus energy (20 + 5 per wave). There is no score for surviving — only for destroying. Breaking 1,500 points means you held the line through all 10 waves with an efficient defense. Your best score is saved on the device.
