How to play Nonogram
Nonogram is a picture logic puzzle. You get a 5×5 grid of empty cells surrounded by number hints. Each hint tells you how many cells in that row or column are part of the hidden picture, written in the order they appear — a hint of "3" means three consecutive filled cells, and "1 1" means two single filled cells separated by at least one empty cell. Fill every picture cell and nothing else to solve the puzzle.
Controls
Click or tap a cell to fill it (click again to clear it). Right-click a cell — or long-press it on touch screens — to mark it with an ×, which is your note for "definitely empty". Press ▶ Start Game to begin, ↺ Restart to wipe the current puzzle, and 🎲 New Puzzle to jump to a different hidden picture.
Tips & strategy
Start with the biggest hints: a row hint of "5" fills the entire row, and "4" fills four of five cells with only the middle three certain. Cross-reference every deduction with the matching column hints before committing. Use × marks aggressively on cells you rule out — the puzzle gets dramatically easier once the "empty" cells are off the table. On a 5×5 grid, a hint of "3" always fills the center cell (positions 2, 3, 4 overlap there), and "1 1" always leaves the center empty. Wrong fills cost mistakes and you only get 5, so mark first and fill second.
Scoring
You get 5 mistakes per puzzle: filling a cell that isn't in the picture counts as one and the cell flashes red and clears. Solve the puzzle with zero mistakes and it counts as a perfect solve. There are 3 hidden pictures to crack; every completed puzzle is saved in your browser as a solved total.
