How to play Piano Tiles
Piano Tiles is the beloved rhythm-tapper: four columns of tiles scroll downward and you must tap every black tile in order, lowest first, before it slides off the bottom. Each correct tap scores a point, spawns a fresh tile at the top, and nudges the scroll speed higher. The run ends the instant you tap a wrong tile — or an empty gap — or let a black tile escape untapped. There is no finish line; the tiles keep coming faster until your rhythm breaks.
Controls
Click or tap the black tiles with mouse or finger, always taking the lowest untapped tile first. On desktop you can also use 1 2 3 4 (or D F J K) for the four columns left to right. ▶ Start Game begins a run and ↺ Restart starts over. Favor accuracy over force.
Tips & strategy
Lock your eyes on the bottom third of the screen, where decisions happen, and let peripheral vision track what is coming. Keep a steady rhythm instead of rushing: most failures come from tapping the wrong column early, not from being too slow. When two black tiles stack in one column, commit to the double-tap without hesitation. As speed climbs, shrink your hand movements — tiny precise taps beat big swings. Breathe every dozen tiles; tension creeps into your shoulders and ruins timing. If you miss, restart immediately while the rhythm is still in your fingers.
Scoring
Every black tile tapped scores 1 point, and scroll speed rises slightly with each tap — later points are genuinely harder earned. One mistake, wrong tile or missed tile, ends the run with your total intact. Your highest tile count is saved in your browser as your best score to chase.
