How to play Sudoku Lite
Sudoku Lite is the classic number puzzle in a quick 6×6 format — ideal for a short brain workout. Fill the grid so every row, every column, and every 2×3 box contains the numbers 1 through 6 exactly once. Some cells come pre-filled as clues; the rest are yours to solve. Click an empty cell to select it, then tap a number on the pad. Correct entries lock in with a cyan glow; wrong guesses count as mistakes — three mistakes ends the puzzle. A brand-new puzzle with a guaranteed unique solution generates every time you press Start.
Controls
Click or tap any empty cell to select it — it highlights in pink — then press a number 1–6 on the number pad. Pre-filled clue cells cannot be changed. ▶ Start Game deals a fresh puzzle and ↺ Restart does the same. The status line under the pad shows elapsed time and mistake count at a glance.
Tips & strategy
Start with the boxes, rows or columns holding the most clues — a line with five numbers has only one possibility. Then scan for cells where five of six numbers are already blocked by their row, column and box. Cross-hatching helps — pick a number and sweep all rows and columns to see where it can still go. If stuck, look for pairs: two cells in one box limited to the same two numbers. Slow, certain play beats fast guessing under the three-strike rule.
Scoring
Each fully solved puzzle adds 1 to your Solved score. Your fastest solve time is saved in your browser as your best — race the clock once confident. Three mistakes fails the puzzle with no points, but a fresh one is one click away.
